Surplus Food Bags Collected
The Mix is open during lockdown, for collection of free food Goody Bags during the week. On Saturday mornings, we are open for refills of detergents and toiletries and for recycling of crisp, biscuit and choc wrappers through the Terracycle scheme (but please don’t make a special journey to bring them in during lockdown).
Our new Winter opening times:
- Mondays 4 – 6 pm (goody bag collection only)
- Wednesdays 10.30 am – 12 noon (goody bag collection only)
- Fridays 10.30 am – 12 noon (goody bag collection only)
- Saturdays 10 am – 12 noon (SESI refills and detergents only)
During lockdown, we have concentrated our efforts on delivering surplus food to the local community, prioritising those in most need – find out more on The Mix Community Fridge page. Thanks to the generosity of your donations, the support of local supermarkets and distributors, and the amazing support of volunteers. Also, our Repair Cafe techs have been fixing up old laptops to pass on to students needing a device to learn from home.
The Mix is a community space run by Sustainable Wantage, which aims to provide practical ways to live more sustainably and bring our local community together – read our story.
When we reopen fully, you’ll be able to use the Resource Bank, attend sustainability workshops and fix stuff at our Repair Cafe. Until then, join us on Zoom Saturday 7th Nov for a virtual Repair Cafe Event, where our volunteer technicians will help you diagnose your faulty items.
In the meantime, join us for monthly Green Drinks discussions, which happen on the last Wednesday of every month – now via Zoom! Talks are around sustainable themes and everyone is welcome.
