This year, we have concentrated our efforts on distributing surplus food to the local community, prioritising those in most need – find out more on The Mix Community Fridge page. Thanks to the generosity of your donations, the support of local supermarkets and distributors, and the amazing support of volunteers. Our Repair Cafe techs have been fixing up old laptops, to pass on to students needing a device to learn from home – we’re collecting again: more info here.
The Mix is a community space run by Sustainable Wantage, which aims to provide practical ways to live more sustainably and bring our local community together – read our story.
Pop in to use our crafts Resource Bank, attend sustainability workshops and fix stuff at our Repair Café. The Repair Café is on the first Saturday of the month. To book a slot, email Jo at firstname.lastname@example.org.
TerraCycle® recycling scheme
Alongside refills we accept all those biscuit wrappers and sweets and chocolate packets you’ve been saving.
The crisp packet recycling scheme closed on 25th April and supermarkets have started taking these!
If you are able to bag them separately (i.e. all biscuit wrappers in one bag, sweets and chocs in another) that would really help us out as we have to ship each of the collections separately. Here’s a reminder of what we can and can’t take:
