Sustainable Wantage look after three small growing spaces in Wantage and Grove, to support biodiversity and provide ‘help yourself’ produce.
Millbrook Community Plot
Next to the Bottle Top at Millbrook Square in Grove, you’ll find this community plot. Sustainable Wantage & Co-op volunteers cleared the ground and the area is now planted with fruit and nut trees, with produce free for the community to enjoy. Plants were purchased via a kind donation from Mole Valley Commercial Ltd who own the site.
Market Place Courtyard
This flower bed can be found outside the Sorting Office in Wantage. The bed was assembled by volunteers and materials funded via community and Town Council contributions to the Flowers Fund.
It’s been planted up with plants donated by Charlton Garden Centre and the Market Garden to provide year round colour and improve the area.
Ledbury Garden
This is a flower bed owned by the Peter Ledbury shop in Grove Street, Wantage and has been planted with various herbs.
